It's a dressed up SEL. Including the same engine.

I very much like the new Polo. Design wise the only thing I don't like about them is the little bit of door that sticks out beyond the window frame when the door is open.

Engine wise the only thing I don't like is the 1.2 3-cylinder which I have had on numerous occasions as a courtesy car.

70 mph is a challenge.

Everywhere.

Coming from a Golf the ride is obviously that bit less stable/planted but the Polo makes up for it a I reckon with being nimble.

There's been some really nice Polo's in Verve where I bought my GTI and if I was looking for a smaller, city car then I'd have picked one up by now.

The R-Line pictured above however - if I'm brutally honest - doesn't look that good. Granted we've only got a front-on picture but from what I can see it's only a chunkier front bumper, a badge on the grille and some R wheels. Personally I reckon the Polo Bluemotion looks sportier and classier. An R-Line should have inherited some DRL's in the form of R-style LED's, a honeycomb front lower grille and some form of detailing around the front fogs. But perhaps VW is keeping such styling cues for the forthcoming Polo R.

The R-line is the euro version of a normal SEL with sparkly bits added.

It uses a low power engine not the GTI version, so defintely not as fast as mine.
