Yes that is for headlights so not your problem i'd start by getting a new temp sensor on your coolant flange  :smiley: this would make your car run rich  :wink:

I got one of those.could it be a faulty new one?(got from tps)

Its possible yes i have once bought a faulty one from the dealer which they replaced and worked a treat  :smiley: again the same can happen with coils aswell i've read a few storys about faulty ones from new so might be worth trying another one of them also. Other thing is crank position sensor this went on my old 8v first starting off running really poor for few weeks then one day wouldn't start  :sad: This is the problem with these cars they can be a right headache if nothings showing on vag-com round and round in circles  :sad:

i had simular issue when like a t1t i removed the oil splash guard under the cam cover as i thought it was making a racket, well after a few days oil got into the throttle body and when driving and changing gears, it felt like the engine was going to fall out. when i would start the car up it would rev over 2k rpm and snap crackle & pop, after taking it all apart again i realised i had some oil sitting in the throttle body cleand this out and the started it, still same. got someone out to check with proper vag com and he reset the throttle body and since then its been sweet!

does your car rev straight over 2k rmp? does it pop and back fire?

yeah does pop and backfire when driven hard through the gears.Also runs very rich.
how do you reset the throttle body?

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

battery off for 20 mins,that helps sometimes

maybe your lambda is goosed
