Edition 35 seats - UK spec?
« on: 29 April 2012, 07:51 »
Hi, does anyone know what the front seats of the ED35 are meant to look like in the UK, as I've seen different versions.  I've sat in one at the dealers and its seats appeared to be identical to that of a standard GTI (including the embossed GTI logo).  However, on VW's own UK website I found this:

http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/volkswagen-world/news/314/volkswagen-celebrates-golf-gti-anniversary-with-edition-35

which seems to suggest differently. Any chance that those on here with an ED35 could confirm exactly what seats it actually comes with please? At the end of the day I'm not really bothered about which design I end up with, although I must admit that the ones in the photo look very smart.

Ta very much

The link you've attached is the concept press release and the Edi35 comes with full black leather as in the std GTi. VW made full leather std on the GTD & GTi around the time of the first 35' going into production so they had no choice otherthan to put full leather in the 35. At the same time they made basic bluetooth connectivity std too.

Personally I would've loved the perforated seats as they look a little more unique. Anyhow theres been lots of discussion on here about this.

No choice? Cobblers! There's a few different variations in euro cars, from Jacarta to edition 35 seats. Only VW know why cloth isn't an option in the uk.

I was also a little disappointed not to have half leather but I am not complaining over full leather as I like it.

Leather and alcantara are nice however not sure I agree on the Pirelli seats, looks like a car has driven through the interior plus the yellow stitching is  but each to their own.
