If I had 12k to spend on a car I wouldn't be looking at golfs or aolfs.

And theres a difference between buying and running a car and you've spent treble that buying 3 cars in the time I've owned the mk4

Cast and a bite

Tell me about it, I should could have just kept the mk4  :undecided:

and lost as much as steve has spent  :lipsrsealed:

Yeah probably
The day you see me in a diesel is the day there is no more petrol left :D

rwd is a no no?

Yep, I can't be fussed worrying about them as soon as the weather turns a bit foul.

I wouldn't even consider the BMW 130i for several reasons.

Firstly it's a 3.0 engine compared to a 2.0T. The fuel is going to be worse. On top of that it offers much less scope for quick, inexpensive tuning. I'm not saying you couldn't do things to it, but the 2.0T will respond far better to light working (such as mapping, cooling and breathing mods).

Secondly it's RWD. For me that's a no no.

Thirdly it's ugly. Looks can be subjective I know but for me the original 1 series hatch just doesn't do it.

Fourthly it's a BMW. I've never been keen on their styling (inside or out) and there's also the badge aspect which isn't appealing to me.

Buy and S3 and map it and you'll have a brilliantly competent (and fast) car for all weather conditions.

the audi mans thinking

I'm definitely not an Audi man.

rwd is a no no?
thats only if you cant drive them right

I found my talent wasted when the car couldn't get out the drive. Trying to power slide down the pavement in your trainers doesn't have the same appeal.

That Keighley motors have some serious cars for sale now and then, i think it'd be worth going just for a mooch around! You never know you might end up with something completely different?! :lipsrsealed:

Yeah my step brother bought a galanza from there a few years ago (when they where in fashion lol) and he said there is some tasty stuff up there. Think I will go and have a look and see if I can play in some big boy stuff he has got on. He has got 3 s3's for sale at the moment too so I can get some comparisons between them without having to travel too far!!

Dont go anywhere near Keigthly. The cars are dogs. I know a few people who have been down and had a look and the feedback wasn't great. My uncle bought an XR3i from them years back too which blew up on the way home..

I know that was some time ago but just google them and you will see what I mean.
