Looking for side trims..
« on: 13 April 2012, 17:27 »
Study subject on left..

Note side trims to cover up the holes from removing wheel arches.

These are the closest i have found, but do not look 100% right as look like they clip into something?

4 door I know, but I believe its the same part. The hole in the bottom of the one in your link to Heritage, is for a clip, that fastens it to the underside of the sill... from memory, the body that has full wheel arches fitted ie a GTI body, has one less hole in the wheel arch than the base model car, therefore its necessary to trim off one of the mounting pegs that is moulded onto the reverse side of the new wheel arch trim..
You will most likely need the little blue clips that push into the holes in the body... 5 per side iirc

Many thanks, mine is poverty spec 1.3 so should just need the other clips you mention. I take it VW Heritage are reasonable on prices? Never used them before being a previous mk4 owner

I dont think that theirs a lot of choice, £20ish seems a fair price, though parts listed are repro, worth asking though if any OE items are available, NOS turns up all the time! Also try GPC, and see if they do them...
