The chap rang head office and they said the vents are just for getting rid of water recess, I know better it does aid cooling, so left my number for him to ring around who can supply decent ones with vents!
vents also help wheel bearing life if you like to drive hard, less heat conducted into the hub dosent really matter when running alloys as they suck heat away very effectivly but steel wheels dont
