Hi you vw enthusiasts; new to the forum me and have become a bit desperate about a running problem. Two vw mechanics have been unable to diagnose and solve the problem. I have a genuine mk 2 8 valve done 71k only that seems to misfire when under load at around 60 mph in fourth and 65 mph in fifth gear. It does not happen in third, second or first. I have had the car for six months and believe the guy who sold me the car would not have known, he kept in his garage and never used it above 50 mph; he was a 70 year old and seemed very honest. However if the car is driven like a boy racer the problem does not happen. Any suggestions would be much appreciated................Mick.
