Yup! I worked last night and Thursday night at the club I have been working at for the past 3 months almost, and I had a missed call from the boss asking me to get in touch. I rang and he said did I know what it was about to which I say no. "You have no idea?" he said, again I said no.

Well apparently someone complained about me to him (who happens to be the boss' mate) and I am instantly fired.

I wasn't told what I had said or who to, just that something had been said and that was that. Now don't get me wrong, I had bar banter whilst working and a lot of people give banter back but I never said anything that overstood the mark, it was always a light hearted affair. I have been trying to work out who it was and what I could of said but I just can't. The place wasn't even busy last night with the most part of 50 people (if that) in.

I never had a contract so I guess I can be let go whenever but I wasn't given any warnings or anything.

Bit sh!t really an especially not giving me the exact reason why.

Not true, if there is no contract then you are entered into an unwritten contract, which just means you get a no frills contract the minimum the law allows on everything like wage, notice, holiday, sick pay, all that sort of stuff.

By law an employer must give you 1 days notice if you have worked there less than 1 month, 1 week for over 1 month but less that 2 years, and 1 week for every year over 2 years with a maximum of 12 weeks.

Also when no contract is in place you are on a probationary period for the first month, after that you must be given a satisfactory reason for dismissal, something like stealing or fighting would be, but for saying something and offending someone you should be given a warning and disciplinary, do it again written warning and disciplinary again, still do it again and your gone.

If you so choose you could take him to an employment tribunal, you wouldn't get any cash but they could make him give you your job back, or I'm sure in the time you worked there you must have seen things that could lose him his licence? if so and he isn't a murdering psychopath, tell him that you want your job back, if you get it back you'll keep your mouth shut, if not you'll get his licence taken off him.

sounds about typical for a club,

leave it a few weeks then call tradeing standards and say they've been rebotteling the vodka

This would work
