No idea what my 2.0l 8v does, I just fill it up when it needs it. But it does sound like there may be something amiss with your mates golf :undecided:

mk2 golf gti 16v i got something amiss too 15 miles fast a roads to work and back.
I filled up with £28.00 @ 81.9 a litre got 189 miles to 1st red line most unamused.
Is it because i'm used to a bora tdi 666 miles on a tank of diesel that's fuel economy and satanic  :evil:
