thermostat help please

hi all ive had my car in the garage today to put a new thermostat on it as my cars not running up to 90 and take ages to warm up.
so when i went to pick it up after work the said they couldnt do it as its a big job because you need to take the front end off and the injecters, is this right cheers its a mk4 1.8 turbo aum

lol.. find another garage its a 20 minute job. Or just use the guide in the maintenance section and do it yourself for free!

Rubbish. I've heard of people removing the alternator to gain access but never the inlet and injectors. It's just fiddly.

alternator needs to come out if its a non-turbo (well its easier to) but there's plenty of room on a 1.8T. AGU is slightly easier than AUM because there's less tat in the way.

dont use the widow maker to keep the car up.. use axel stands  .. will be easier with it raised  :wink:
