Jacking car for oil change? idea?
« on: 13 March 2012, 10:35 »
Do you guys jack the car to change oil?

If you have an air compressor you could use something like this;

Warm car up
Remove dipstick and insert suction tube
Turn on suction and wait for oil to be sucked out
Change filter
Refill with oil & replace dipstick
Job done

This is how I do mine, takes 15mins and gets ALL the oil oil of the sump, more from experience than when I have jacked the car previously.

Just a thought. :grin:

My sump comes off every 12 months, oil change 3/4/5 times a year.

Only ever noticed the pickup partially blocked when I first did it though, been fine since, whats yours been like? How many times u replaced it?
