How to test a Thermostat

Hi just a quick Q regarding testing the Thermostat, myn is fubar'd wont get anywhere near 90 so my new on turned up today and i want to test it before i fit it, do i just stick it in a cup and boiling water, if it opens it works ?

Pretty much :)

Get a thermometer, place the thermostat in a kettle, boil it and see when it opens!

Get a thermometer, place the thermostat in a kettle, boil it and see when it opens!
