I know it kind of defeats the purpose of social networking, but I need to gain a little traction for our Google +1 page (so that we can start getting rich snippets displayed).

Apparently people do ... Not really a fan of it myself either

@DH, its really a longer term strategy aimed at Google+ Direct Connect (if it ever takes off), but I reckon G+ popularity will have significant bearing on it.
