Drivers side if it louder when turning right. You'll need a puller to get the inner race off apart from that standard garage tools

Eh?

It should be passenger side if its noisy when turning right. Bearings make noise under load - so on a right turn, the drivers side rear is the least loaded wheel.

Makes a noise like worn wheel bearings. Are you able to drive through the noise so it is less noticeable above certain speeds? Not sure why it would be louder turning right if it is uneven tyre wear though. What tyres do you have? Some makes are more prone to noise through uneven wear than others.

eliminating the side is a case of jacking the wheel up and seeing if there is any play if it isnt obvious from just driving around

I changed my rear wheel bearing yesterday. There was no play in the wheels and no noticeable increase/decrease in noise when turning. But once the bearing was off you could feel it was knackered and when broken down you could see the flat spots on the inner race.
