was it raining when problem occurred,this happened to mine,spray on motorway :angry:
gave it a service day after(it was due 1 anyway) changed dizzy,leads,plugs etc been fine since :lipsrsealed:

it had been raining/snowing for few days , sat for a few days without moving cos i was changing the matrix. just gonna put it bk to basic golf, then do service n sell on. prefer the black one now

i had a similar problem, eventually it kept on staggering on low revs.

it then broke down and wouldn't start, AA changed the ignition coil but put on off of a newer model not made by bosh which worked for a bit then did exactly the same.

sourced a secondhand decent condition ignition coil for correct age and all seems to be ok at the moment.
