HELP PLEASE

ok, yesterday i was driving and the temp gauge came on, car had no water, so refilled it with boiling water to be on the safe side as engine was hot, then all of a sudden water poured into the passengers footwell.... ive been told this is the heater matrix and was just wondering what is the best way to access this to fix . and is it a big job

sorry to say but changing the matrix on a mk3 is a right pain in the arse and iirc a dash out job,sure someone will confirm soon.

yeah dash out job but that aint that big a job its 3 tens on the engine side of firewall are a pain after that its just screws on dash side easy but time consuming

started removing the dash, got most of it off, , where are the screws located holding the top of it. seems like it is being held on at the top at the back , ( where its close to the windscreen if that helps.)

At the rear of the bulkhead under the scuttle panel.

You may have to remove the wiper linkage to get to them.......

Yup I had the same problem getting the dash out and it turned out to be those screws on the engine side of the firewall.
