Water Leak!
« on: 03 February 2012, 12:19 »
Hi all,

I've been having to top up the water on the golf slightly ever few days. Most days there is a wet patch under the car just to the inside of where the passenger front wheel sits but I can't for the life of me find where it's coming from! I took it to the tyre place recently to get the tracking checked and I got them to put it on the lift to find it for me but they can't find it either!

Any thoughts on potential leak points?

Get the system pressure tested that will soon show up any leaks.

pollen filter.  i bet its above the gear box, on that side of the block. Its hidden behind the engine breather pipe. I had it spray me and my brother in the face , god, i couldn't see where it came from.  i was changing the pcv pipes and removed a bolt that hold the breather pipe that goes to the rocker cover. When i pulled on a pipe on the front of the engine ,we got sprayed with hot red water.   my brother thought it came out the pipe i was pulling on for the pcv system. Man that was hard to work out what/where it came from.

Skim read the thread on my phone, completely misread and thought it was a leak into the car on the passenger side

Completely ignore everything I have to say!
