Bump strip removal/ smoothing

I'm getting my car wrapped soon and want to remove/ smooth the bump strips, what's the best way of doing this, has any one else done it? Im no good at welding, what other options do I have?

I recently did a rear bumper. To do it I had a donor bumper which I cut rub strip shapes out of right underneath where the rub strips are. These were then plastic welded in the recess left by the rub strip. Some good bumper filler over the top and then sand until happy. More detailed description and pics can be found in my build thread.
I did plenty of research into different ways of doing this and this is the best way to DIY it. The best way full stop is professional with a product called Fusor but this is expensive.
Some people have done it using expanding foam and bumper filler which is just sill if you ask me. If your wrapping it you don't want any sinking or cracking as this would ruin the whole look and would require the vinyl to be removed then the bumper to be fixed.
