My Son is in a band and are now starting to get gigs out of the local area.

I have a good Mk3 GTi and have been thinking of getting either a Passat or Skoda estate but after last nights gig in Leicester,am thinking of a T25 wasserboxer diesel.

I need to know what sort of money to find for one or if anyone on here knows of a scource of second hand VW vans and minibuses.

I had one many years ago but that was the aircooled petrol T25 minibus.

Any ideas or sugestions coz getting everyone together in one place using public transport was a nightmare.
A minibus would be ideal I think.

The WBX motor was petrol only.

You'd need a 1.6TD motor, which is a Golf engine.

Good luck finding a T25 van and also a T25 for cheap.

I think you would be better looking for a T4, in a low-output variant.

WBX motors are crap end off.    there very good at drinking fuel and leacking water, thats about it

1.6 TD t25's are slower than a retarded snail

T4 is probaly a more econmical choice of van, tho if it's just a band hack   highly recomended are LDV things i think they called them a convoy

they are nasty, nasty to drive,  slow and bits regualy drop off.  but they use naff all fuel,  about a cheep to insure as your ever going to get. and you can buy ones in good in good condition with resonably low miles for literaly what they would weigh in for if you look in the right place.  one or two outings a week should be managable in it

LDV or tansit crew cab with a ply wood rear covered in acoustic carpet for all the gear.
Or hire a tour manager

I,ll research the T4 then.
Funny tho,theres an old bloke near me that does hillclimbing.
He has converted an old police riot wagon into his race day motorhome.
Thats an old LDV convoy.
If I cant get a VW I,d rather go with a Transit crew cab.
