Electric Window mechanism replacement
« on: 23 May 2005, 11:43 »
My drivers side electric window motor decided to pack in yesterday (with the window down i would like to add!)

Anyway, i'm in the process of acquiring a new mechanism kit, but i need to know how easy this is to fit.  Is there anything I should look out for and is it simply a case of swapping the mechanisms over?

Cheers

its very easy to fit. hardest part would be accessing the bolts that hold the actual glass in but as your's is stuck down it'll be very easy

4 bolts hold the mechanism in, 3 for the motor & 2 for the glass

once you;ve the doorcard off you'll realise how easy it is

Thanks Gambit!
I've already got the doorcard off as i had to unbolt the window in order to get the damn thing up!!
Anyone got any idea how much i should be paying for a mechanism?  Been looking on eBay and there is a complete set finishing tonight and is sitting at about £22.  Obviously i expect this to go up, but what would be a reasonable price?

£25 is what ive paid for them

you cant use the earlier mechanisms for the two piece windows either.
