As I stopped it said 25 miles left I got the can and started up again and it said 5 miles left how can it loose 20 miles sitting in the drive? I drove to the fuel station 1/4 mile up the road it showed 0 miles so I carried on for 3 miles so these electronic gizmos are just kidding you.
Ha ... I think they all do that to some degree

... I'm pretty sure it tries to calculate the mileage left from the current / recent mpg.
For example if I fill up full near a motorway, drive gently and cruise at 58mph, my range (miles left) is around 360 miles

Next morning, I start her up in the cold and drive to work (with a cold engine) and it will drop dramatically to 260 miles left

Technically I guess they were both correct(ish) given the different conditiions and driving styles ?
