Jetta Mk2 16v conversion
« on: 06 January 2012, 15:28 »
I've just found a bargain looking jetta on gumtree. I've always wanted one but amn't too familiar with them so I wondered if as it is a 1600 would it be a 4 speed box?
The reason I wonder is because I was offered a 1800 16v engine out of a corrado and quite fancied dropping it into a golf/jetta but unfortunately the gearbox is not included, hence my question.
Any help would be appreciated!

Our three year old uses 'amn't'.  It's awesome in a three year old.

1600 would probably have a five speed gearbox.

Go find a rotten Golf3 16V and bolt in the engine and gearbox, along with the wiring.

How hard can it be, eh?
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
