MK2 GTI ELECTRICAL ISSUE!!!

ANYONE! need assistance! ok basically...all bulbs are ok, headlights work...when i switch the lights on (1st click) i get the below;

NO LIGHTS anywhere...no rear...no dims on the front...no dash, dial and interior lights!

BUT when i switch the lights on full (2nd click) my headlights are working...only lights that do work!

I've changed the switch...wiring loom and checked the fuses...need to check the relay but im sure its not that...can anyone think of anything?

you havent got a relay on a standard mk2 so no need to check that

As ever..... check your earths.

Then drop down the fusebox and make sure everything's plugged in right there and check it's not got wet.

check the wires to the dim dip resistor in the engine bay behind one of the headlamps.

As already mentioned could just be a bad earth
