removing interior door panels
« on: 11 May 2005, 19:53 »
Hi. I am trying to remove the front driverside  interior door panel of my 1.8 T (2002)  for a straight swap as the one currently fitted is badly scuffed. There are three torx screws at the bottom and a philips screw on the far side at the top. After removing these and 'unclippping'the panel, it still seems firmly attached. Do I need to remove the handle with all the window controls (and wood trim) too? if so how?
Maybe someone who has removed the panel to upgrade their front speakers could help me out?
cheers
daveyboy.

to get the fingerplate panel off, you have to remove the inner piece of the grab handle (should be the walnut part if its standard) it just slides out towards the door, you can then pull it off and disconnect the switches safely.

not sure if you've already done it but you have to remove the door trigger too (the bit you pull to open the door) which is a fairly straight forward job
