Cheers for the insight folks.
I'm not looking for a total track car, but more of a quick road car that I can take to trackdays and have a laugh and still drive it home, without ripping its nuts off. Although I do like the idea of the Mk5 above

I've been out looking at the focus RS again, but I made a switch for an Audi to a Scoob a good few years back and although the oomph was there I felt I went backwards with the quality of the machinery, I think I'd feel the same moving from the GTD.
TBH, I did think about getting some work done to the GTD and giving it a go on track but felt I'd throw money at it, that I would not recoup when its boring nature became more evident on track.
