It was the old mans theory I thought they were all pieces of sh!t except the Jag double he owned! But back then £40 to fill up both tanks was scary!
He owned a Renault 35 and Volvo's aswells. enough said.... :lipsrsealed:

I had a V40 1.9TD for 5 years from new (1999-2004) loved it, It loved the outside lane of motorways. Everyone just moved out of my way, It looked like an unmarked police car . Had extra aerial fitted on the roof for work.

Done 125k miles in it never had a spanner to the engine, apart from oil filter changes.

And It was the one with the renault derv engine fitted

Ive had a few Volvo's, at 21 i had a 240 GLT it cost me sod all to insure and was faster than my mates Nova's and XR3's :lipsrsealed: The V6 Volvos had a French Engine which was piss poor in comparison to the ford derived 4 cylinder, the 2.3 turbo lump from the 760 drops in to a 240 with ease making a real high speed barge
Would love Another 240 to play with one day

Yeah I hate to say it the 240GL gave me fond memories it was one of the first cars I serviced for the old man, he taught me everything about it " Look at the engine nothing to go wrong and built like a brick shi*t house!"
He spent about 15K on it Pioneer 8 speaker sound system, private plate B8888 fully loaded and in the best colour dark Monza blue equivalant! He wanted the 760-740 afterwards!
