2 fault codes please look
« on: 14 November 2011, 18:50 »
Hi,
Swapped a mk2 valver for a mk4 gttdi 110 asv engine code.
Had a few probs from the off
Drivers window mech broke so replaced
Arb bushes and droplinks
Various bulbs
Egr delete done plus cleaned out inlet manifold

not fixed yet

Aircon light on but has no gas
Faulty door module
Bootlight
limp mode

Plugged in the code reader the nite and threw up 2 codes
17965
17563
When fitting an allard delete kit on saturday i simplified the vacuum setup with new samco hose so both codes have come since then.
I also broke the n75(snapped one of the pipes) valve so just plugged in the n18 one i had removed the old vacuum pipe off,
have also recently done an inotec clean but think the turbo is well clogged up so getting replacement in  3 weeks.
I then plugged the broken n75 to where the n18 was.
What im after is info as to the 17563 code and what causes it,have read its mani preassure sensor g71?any ideas where its located
many thanks

With those 2 codes I'm pretty sure mine gets the same ones, I cannot remember the numbers exactly but mine has 2 codes that keep coming back. They are 'open circuit line to earth', or words to that affect, from one of the valves you removed during the vac simplification and the other code is something similar for the other valve removed

Oh ok, you must of done the vac simp differently to what I did.

That is what I did, so I totally removed the N18 and N239 valve (with the electrical connection). So was just left with the sockets that are connected to the car which I 'just taped up'.

Cannot help you with the others

was the codes there before or after the work you carried out?

I wouldnt want to be swapping the N75 around with the N18 :undecided:
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

Hi mate,
They were there but cleared been having problems with the turbo so am guessing its all related.
Switched them over as a temp fix(needed for work but taking it very easy)got new n75 on order.
The cars done 166k no idea if the turbos ever been replaced

This doesn't throw up a fault code?

No it does, this is what I mean. Removing those 2 electrical valves (N18 and N239) and leaving them unplugged give me 2 codes that keep re appearing, but I know what they are so I have just left them...
