and where dose that go?

in the centre console infront of the gear stick

they fit bad because its for left hand drive cars

ah right didn't see that  can it be made to fit ?
A few people on here have done it but I forget who  :undecided:
Another option are Passat B3 and maybe B4 cup holders, they fit to the right of the gear stick and fold out. They can be tricky to find though.
Personally I use the cubby along the door cards  :lipsrsealed:

Just buy an aftermarket one that sits near the cubby hole in the centre console, or straddles the back of the handbrake cover. Have a think as I'm sure there are some v.cheap alternatives that can be modded to fit wherever u would prefer. Saab ones are pretty cool!

Not exactly the same as you guys have been thinking of but it's worth a look in Tescos. They have a black zip round lunch box which has cup/drink can pockets on the outside. I've got my Poundland iPod holder tucked in one and my Costa coffee mug in the other. My (growing) collection of chargers and gadgets. The whole lot can go into the boot when I want the seat space.
So a cheapstake solution at £6.75 but may be worth a look

ive been thinking about this myself (from the mk4) as everytime me & the wife go mckies or dixy i gota get her to hold the drink or when im on my own i hav e to stick them in the door pockets. so was thinking about geting a single one to mount in just under the headlight switch from the mk4 but will it work? dont think so.

You could probably fit one of these on a mk3.
Its off a b4 Passat, flips down.

Edit: Infact you certainly could!

They look a good idea down in front of the gearstick. Much better idea than the mk4 ones nearer the top of the dash. If you are driving along and change gear your hand can knock your holder and your beer goes everywhere, bad times.  :lipsrsealed:
