Vinyl - Effects of Weather & Temperature?
« on: 23 November 2011, 10:40 »
Morning chaps,

Quick question about Vinyl and how it responds to cold weather/winter?

I ask, as I'm thinking of getting some bits done externally on the car but don't want a vinyl cover to destroy the paint underneath if it's on over winter as with most plastics they become brittle in cold weather.

Cheers.

I had the roof on my mk3 part covered in vinyl over a winter all ok.

Took it off when the weather got warmer all ok with no damage to the paint.

Make sure who does the work uses really good quality vinyl.

Iv wrapped loads of roofs with no weather problems at all, I'm toying with the idea of wrapping the whol car Matt anthracite grey with the Matt black roof and wheels :-)

Depends on the vinyl thats used, most vinyls will have 2yrs, 5yrs or 7yrs guarantee !
