Not mine a friends , and none GTI . But can anyone explain how the temperature dial for the heating is connected to the matrix and how i can get to it. The bloke reckons that the heater is constatnly set to stun , any ideas ?

its cable operated. The lower end can be got to by taking out the centre console. For the upper end you'll have take out the radio.

Might be worth using the exising broken cable as a trace top pull a new cable thru. Just gaffer tape the top of the new on e to the bottom of the old.

Cheers mate . I may just get to the top and put it half and half . The poor bloke has been driving everywhere with his windows down in the host weather . Although looking at the weather today it may be better to leave it !!!
