Is this Ok??

Right chaps, I have acquired the use of a clarke rotary at work thats only been used once. It only has a 150mm backing plate, but hopefully that should suffice. I need to get some pads as the ones that were with it never got cleaned, and it was used with T-cut thats still in the box with it.  I dont have many products but was thinking of this lot below. I've never used a rotary before, so will give it a go on a spare panel first. The car is the one in the sig (dragon green), and has deep(ish) swirls, and quite a few rds's. Will these products be ok, or be a bit too aggressive, or can you suggest alternatives that will work better please. Dont think its ever had a proper detail in its life. Also are these pads ok?, and which products do I use with the rotary with, and which ones by hand? - Sorry for so many newb questions fellers!!

Products;

DJ purposeful purple clay or DJ supernatural. - Purple is quite aggressive I think, although my paintwork is pretty bad but will this be TOO aggressive?

Megs Ultimate Compound - (Already have)

DJ Lime Prime, or DJ Need for Speed. - I already have the NFS, and its on the waxamomo site under polish/glaze although its an all in one. Would this be ok, or should I forget it and just get the LP?

DJ Redmist, or CG Jetseal 109. - Heard lots of good things about the Jetseal so would prefer this if I'm honest, but the Redmist is half the price and I'm on a budget!

Collinite 476s - Again heard good things about this and its a good price, but is there a better alternative?

In addition to this, I obviously need pads for the rotary. Seen 3M pads and they seem quite straightforward compared to the tons that are available from other manufacturers that have just confused me.

Green compounding pad
Yellow polishing pad
Blue finishing pad.

Are these ok, and which products would I use these with?

I am not pro, just a very eager enthusiast  so don't take what I say as read!

Either clay bar will do, just make sure you get some good clay lube to use with it, the DJ born slippy is good and the DJ SN purple clay is good for a real dirty car I believe.

I am yet to use megs ultimate compound, will let you know how it goes at the weekend with my DA.

DJ LP is very good, sack of the need for speed stuff. But I don't think you will need to use DJ LP before you rotary it, you could use it as a compound for your polisher.

DJ RM is a great product, more for a weekly usage after a simple wash and dry I'd say rather than using on a full detail. I don't think you are meant to apply wax straight over the top of it. CG jetseal is meant to be great, never used it myself.

Collinite 476 is meant to always be a winner...go for it, or give a DJ wax a go, esp one of the panel pots. I have DJ SNH to use at the weekend

One of each pad will savice I'd say. Umm, compounds all I can say is get one with minimal cut (say a 3/10) and then one with a higher cut (maybe 7-9 cut) and try then both on each pad. I am using my DA with megs cutting/polishing/finishing pads and 2 megs compounds for the first time this weekend so I cannot say too much on this!

Thanks bud, very helpful. So which do I use the rotary with and which by hand if I go - megs UC, jetseal, colli 476. I'm assuming polish and seal with rotary, and wax by hand, but can all 3 be applied using the rotary with the associated pad for each I take it? Sorry if it's a silly question! Also what's the difference with the panel pots, and how many layers/details will they do?

You can apply DJ LP by hand or machine, have never heard of it be used with a rotary, however I know it compliments a DA very well. UC for sure with the rotary, and then jetseal and colli by hand mate, as you don't need to 'work' them into the paint as they will not be doing any cutting more sealing and protecting.
Each pad will (the ones you mentioned) put with a diff cutting compound will have a different cutting effect if put with a different compound. Try each pad and compound out on that panel you have to see which will give harshest cut and the softest polish.

The panel pots are basically testers of the wax before you buy the whole pot I guess. I have a panel pot and have put 3 coats on my mk4 golf, with maybe one more coat in it! They are good value for money!
