golf vr6 gear selection

hi,my golf is hard to get into first,i keep putting it into 3rd then i have to put it into 2nd then fight to get into first,i think it could be a gear linkage fault but im not sure as the gearbox feels solid,has anybody had the same problem,its recently had a new clutch im wanting to get this minted now as it has a few minor faults please can somebody help

Sounds like the linkage hasn't been installed properly after the new clutch matey

Pretty sure theres a guide on here somewhere, certainly on the net so do a search 
Easy fix if it is the linkage, nowt too drastic mateeee
