price for body work?
« on: 12 September 2011, 14:37 »
im thinking about getting some body work done to the car and was wondering about the cost of getting the passenger door done first as its the worst part of the car. it needs dings and dents sorted, then just painting.

anyone had it done or know of a general price??

only way you will get proper quotes is by taking the car to local bodyshops and asking them

A full door you're probably looking about 200 plus paint, so 230 all in. Possibly less. Depends how much prep work is involved.
Project longterm Airbanger.

Is this a job that you may be confident in trying yourself? Just thinking that it would be a cheaper option than a body shop. Also restoring it yourself would be fun! Even if you were to sort the dings and dents and pay someone for a paint job you would make a great saving

most garages cost £100 a panel if you get stupid qoutes like £200 a panel just walk away, most garages charge about £1200 for a full respray as most cars have around 12 to 13 panels, if you strip the door and do some prep your self it might be less
