GAP Security
« on: 24 November 2004, 13:09 »
GAP Security just came out to fit a Clifford Concept 650 system to my car. I am dead impressed with the quality of the install and how helpful the bloke was.

I think they cover most of the country - they come to your workplace or home to do the install.

I have used them (and recommended them to friends) several times.

The guys they use are freelance fitters, not direct employees of GAP - hence their ability to cover the whole of the UK.

Everytime I call them I am very upfront and tell them "Send me the best person you have, not some monkey with a screw driver". I always end up with top class people who di a top classs job.

I would have refused payment, or rejected the intsall if the had damaged my car.

i had a clifford installed by them last year and i have to say the installation was very very poor indeed, they couldnt be bothered to even wire some parts up!! they broke parts all over my car and also instead of soldering connections decided to just twist wires together and tape them up!!! i would never in a million years go anywhere near this comapny again. their customer service was very poor to say the least and they only finally listened to me when i threatened trading standards and even then they did hardly anything. the outcome of all this is nopw that the immbobiliser has packed up and i cant start my car so i am having the whole thing removed and a brand new toad alarm immobiliser installed. once the old setup is out of the car i will be marching to GAP and throwing it through their window with a brick attatched!!

Called them the other day for a quote...
Bearing in mind I'm a contractor so not working means I earn no money yeah?

GAP supply and fit Clifford Concept 650 - £470...and I can earn £95 for working that day.
Local Clifford Agent supply and fit Clifford Concept 650 - £360..i get a day off but don't earn £95.

So, I'm £15 better off having the day off and the local agent fitting it. CRAZY!!!

Oh yeah, and when I spoke to GAP they tried to pressure me into having it done - said I wanted to think about it and he wouldn't accept that I wanted to think about it.
So, local dealer is getting the business.........
