Fuel pump
« on: 17 September 2003, 11:22 »
Hi, limped back from Stansted yesterday with what seemed like fuel starvation, when I got home, the fule pump was making a high pitched whine, just wondered is it serviceable? Or do I need to replace the whole thing? They're ?100 for a new one, wanted to know before I pull mine to bits and find that I can't put it back together and then not be able to get to the garage to get a new one!

It's a 90 digifant with the electronic pump in the back.

Sound like your fuel pump is on its way out, however, I would recommend checking you haven't got any blockages or restrictions i.e blocked filter, inlet strainer for the pump etc.

I think Rich posted something about rebuilding them, not sure though. I would just replace it as i can't be arsed to play with these things.
