strange problem
« on: 20 August 2011, 20:08 »
hello,

I have come across a strange problem with my GTI.

There is bubbling noises or slight nocking noises coming from underneath or behind the glovebox. This happens when the car is moving or when th car is stationary.

When I turn the ignition off it stops. When I turn the ignition back on it starts again???

It still does this when the air con is turned off.

Could it be a valve not opening and closing for the air con? or could it be something else??

Strange.............

are you losing coolant? or changed it recently? only thing down there that would cause a bubbling noise is the heater matrix, is the carpet wet?

flap position motor for the blower maybe, they make some odd noises when they fail. you need to check the hvac module for faults to pick up that one iirc
