G60 arch fitting
« on: 27 April 2005, 22:49 »
hi guys, i just bought some g60 front and rear arches and sills for only 30quid, lol, bargain, only problem is, is that the sills dont have the brackets but will the rivets at either side hold them in like i have been told,

also do the arches just rivet in like the originals, or is it more complicated?

proper bargain i'd say! you'll need a fitting kit to hold your side skirts on, basiclly it is a strip of plastic with clips that attatch to the back of the side skirt, they break quite easily. you can get them from gsf etc but they are genuine VW so won't be any cheaper. the arches are just the same but with the little cut outs etc. best thing to do is bond them to the arch as well.

run a line of windscreen sealer when you fix the skirt on. that'll seal it to the sil so it shouldn't come loose unless you ground her out badly.

if you can afford it roll the arch up into the new g60 arch. that'll give you more clearance if you want a mega drop or running 17's or 18's. :D

arches are the same yes but the G60 ones have a clip that you need to cut off so that they sit flush on the wing.

My side sills are held on by pop rivets or you can screw these to the car. Pop riveted them Behind the jack covers

My next job is to cut the whole metal wing
