Headlight switch

Im planning on fitting oe hella foglights to my mk3 (GL). I understand i need the switch (with double pull) the loom, the foglights and the new towing eye covers. I brought a new switch off ebay and fitted it this morning. The switch works but wont turn on my dipped beam, just sidelights and the rear fogs. Obviously the front fogs wont work untill i fit the loom but the light on the switch works.

Any ideas? Faulty switch?

I think the headlamp looms are different due to the gti having seperate lights for high and low beam.

i got a 1.4 se i have the double switch all works fine and all i did was put switch in with a hope to wire up foglights in future lol :/

what about main beam?

Hmmm it must be a faulty switch then. Yeah main beam works, sidelights work but dipped beam doesnt.
