Key fob/Immobiliser problem!!
« on: 21 July 2011, 11:03 »
Hi everyone,

This morning just going to work and tried pressing the button on the remote unlock keyfob - the light on they key fob was flashing but the car was not unlocking - I kept pressing the button but no luck...

I opened the door manually with the key, but hazards were flashing and car wouldn't start - immobiliser I guess! (actual alarm is disconnected)

I kept pressing the button and eventually it worked and I could start the car - seems like it is getting dodgy though!

For the moment I'm not going lock/immobilise the car with the key fob as I might not be able to unlock it again...

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what i might need to do? Get a new key fob?

Or a new receiving sensor for the car? I'm not sure where this is in the car

Also, is there any way of disabling the immobiliser

Cheers!

Alex

If the immobiliser has a press button it's not o.e so you'll need to find the make and search for solutions (google or the maker)
standard vw immobilisers are built into a chip in the key
