Dodgy clocks issue?
« on: 06 August 2011, 11:39 »
I'm just about to pick up a mk3 8v GTI I won on ebay, and the bloke ahs kindly told me about a problem its just aquired.
When you start it, the clocks work then a few seconds after the rev counter dies and the oil pressure light flashes constantly, and this happens at the same time everytime. I suspect dodgy clocks, would you agree?

He says the oil pressure is find as is the oil level.

Dont buy it if he has only told you this after the auction has finished as it is not as described in the advert. A friend frequently buys cars sight unseen from ebay and does exactly this with no ill effects to his feedback. Alternatively, ask for money off if you actually do want the car.

He seems pretty genuine and told me as soon as it happened and did offer to let me have it cheaper which I have agreed to. Im pretty sure it is just the clocks and as long as it has oil pressure then im happy with the price
