Front Wishbone Rear Bush

Hi All,

I Just had an MOT done and it failed because of the nearside front wishbone rear bush being shot, I was wondering how hard it is to get the bush out of the wishbone and weather its just worth just replacing the bush or the whole wishbone. Also is wishbone replacement a fairly easy job, any advice would be helpful.

bush presses out, new one presses in. Get Audi TT bushes rather than the crap standard ones

Thanks for your reply mate, Do the bushes just press out easily then, I don't need any special tools to do this?

I don't suppose anyone knows the part number for the Audi TT bushes do they, I had a quick look around but don't want to end up buying the wrong ones.

Bushes in general are fairly easy to remove, but a total pain to get back in. They are press fit, so you'll need a good solid vice (preferably large) vice to act like a press.

If you've not got a vice, buy a new wishbone (from the bay). It's more expensive than changing just a bush, but it's much much easier. Also unless they are fairly new, replace the balljoints whilst the bottom arms are off.

(And if your wishbones are not in a sh!tty state you can tidy them up and press new bushes in at your leisure)

Thanks mate, I just got a new wishbone and ball joint in the end, I don't have a vice and was in a bit of a hurry to get it done before the retest so it was much easier to replace the whole lot.
