As is usual, Mike is right. Spoiler does not have to be removed on the Mk6. The VW Bodyshop is willing to remove and re-install the trim if I get National Windscreens to do the job on their premises ...... for a small charge, of course.

i had this done by RAC auto windscreens.. mine was a total mess as the back screen was put through. Little bits of glass rattling inside the trim still to this day.

I was told that there is no way of getting them out unless they remove the boot... which i obviously didnt want. Seems to have settle down a little now, but the gent did break the internal trim which the parcel shelf hooks onto and then tried to dent he had done it.

A new part had to be ordered from VW and then re-fitted. All in all it was a pain in the ar$e to get it done.

A word of note - RAC windscreens would have automatically ordered and fitted one of THEIR rear screens for the golf. I had to specifically ask for it to be ordered from VW themselves!! They will try to save money where possible

National Windscreens told me they would have to order a screen from VW. At least there's one- upmanship from my lot.
BTW, why did you need a new screen?
