Difference between turbo and injected

Hi was just thinking today that my golf mk4 1.8T is turbod and was told that the turbo is always there, but then ive also heard of some cars having turbo injected.
Is there a big differnece and am i right in thinking that an injected turbo works when you get to a certain speed or certian amount of revs?

Im not very clued up when it comes to turbo cars lol

Injection has nothing to do with the turbo.  All golf GTI's are fuel injected. Turbo compresses and forces air into the intake that then mixes with the injected fuel.  Google turbo charging, then google fuel injection.

Also note that some older turbo charged cars are not fuel injected, renault 5 GT Turbo is one of them

Ok starting to understand it a bit more now. It's just sometimes u see cars with I on the back so I though it would mean it was injected.

Unless someone wants to prove me wrong, all cars badged as a GTI are fuel injected.  The Renault GT Turbo, has no I, therefore its a Grand Tourer Turbo (carbed).  The old Astra GTE was the odd one out as the E also stood for injection.   The German word for injection begins with an E. Can't spell it without looking it up, Einspritzen or something like that.

Also note that just because a badge doesn't have an I in it, doesn't mean its not fuel injected.  20vT badge translates to 4 Cylinder, 20 valve Tubro with Fuel injection. I don't really know of a current car that's not fuel injected therefore the I is no longer a gimmick and is often missed off.
