Iv just bought some new wheels that are in serious need of a refurb! They have a polished dish and wondered if I get them re-furbed will I have to get them re polished or would some 'Autosol metal polish' just bring them back to a mirror finish? Cheers Craig

I'd take them back mate, if they're new they shouldn't need refurbishing already.

Sorry i wasnt very clear in my first post. They are not new, but they are the newest addition to the car  Anyway heres a few pics of them. I only got them today so didnt really know what to expect. Theres no kerbing at all just what looks like laquer peel on the dish and the insides have minor scratches but not deep, like a scowering pad sort of scratch. Just wondered if anyone thinks these actually need re-furbing or just acid dipping and then a once over with a polishing machine possibly? Also one wheel has some random paint spilled on it (pic 3)! Im guessing acid dipping will get rid of this? cheers

Ahh a tub of autosol will sort that out.

Warning getto way of doing it: Stick them on the front and raise the front and stick it in 5th, use it as a lathe for the lips.

Autosol won't sort it. It'll corrode as the autosol is abrasive, removing what's left of any protective layer on those wheels.

Thanks guys! I'm gonna take a few pics to a wheel re-furb place near me and see what they think, I will let you know what they say. Money is very very tight so I'm hoping an acid dip and a buff up will be enough to make them look good for now!
