halford sell glue designed for rearview mirrors.
it about £5 but it is nice and solid.

its shiiiiiite!! biggest waste of £5 i ever spent...

i thought it would do the job for my mk1 mirror but it fell off as soon as I went to adjust it

i had some stuff a while ago it was a piece of mesh you cut to size and then when you put the glue on the mesh it activated and then set rock solid cost me about £3.50 and worked a treat HTH

thats the stuff i got... didn't work at all.. could be the design of the mirror on the mk1.. nothing has fixed it yet!

Oh :( I bought some loctite glass glue as after looking at the mirror bond i didn't want to attach that mesh as it's white and can't cover the rain sensor.
