Insurance for 22 year old for mk2 LCR-k1 (240)
« on: 09 June 2011, 23:25 »
Hi,

Did loads of quotes and fiddling around and too say the least I'm f@cked off. My golf is 900 for a year with 2ncb. However if I switch away from admiral as I have been a customer over 2.5yrs, this jumps to £1800 from many searches. But I was thinking off getting a mk2 LCR the k1 spec with 240bhp.

Problem is cheapest I can find it is £2700 a year, but the 265bhp model works out £2400... How the hell does that work out, more power less insurance?... Plus a TT-RS worked out nearly the same as the 265bhp LCR... Now this is really unrealistic compared to what the golf costs and the power difference. And to be fair a Gallardo really didn't cost much more to insure in comparison  (shame I can't afford that).

If the LCR was around £1200 I'd jump on the wagon, any idea's on what or how it would be to see if I can get it too around this level???

Just mugs me off as, as soon as I could work I did! I never caused an accident, at 21 I bought a house... Now for being responsible and sensible I have been r@ped. So I think a letter off this r@pe should be sent to crime watch as a 19year old would be not having this    By the way I'm 21 now but will be 22 very shortly hence for the age difference in quote.

My arguement is, my insurance is £900 a year, but if I was too leave and rejoin the premium becomes 1800 a year... Basically the rates good due too being a customer for 2.5years, which would be my guess considering first year was £2900.

But the quotes are making no sense surely it shouldn't be more than a few hundred over the golf especially as a sensible customer who's made them over £6000 in two years.

Then as said how come the 265bhp was cheaper to insure than 240, lets not mention that 3rd party costs £200 more, again no logic. Yet a TT-Rs is nearly the same as a 240 to insure and in a different league.

Just to me the insurance industry has no logic and made believe figures that cannot be justified.

But I'm determined to get it down hopefully or find an insurer with sense!
