I brought it though BCA and you have to pay the indemity thingy that does checks for you, but i have the folder with the instructions etc but the service book part is missing that makes alarm bells ring MOTs all add up but you can do alot of miles in the first 3 years of a cars life. Ive got a 58 reg mondeo that ive done 69k in now from new and its first MOT is not due til xmas I will have to try ringing VW to see if they have any history, do they charge for this?
