what do you mean by smears? could be that you have marred the paint mate. t-cut is a big no no when it comes to paintwork on a car. technology has come very very very far soince the days of t-cut. its all about nano technology now so it wouldnt surprise me that with the t-cut you have marred the finish of your car.

give it a good wash mate and then clay the bonnet to see if its just on the surface, if its still there after the wash then you have marred the finish and will require polishing out.

let me know how you get on and hopefully i can give you some advice mate. i deal in paint correction and the amount of damage i see from people incorrectly washing their cars and with bad products would amaze you

t-cut is awful stuff, never liked it, but its easy to think that t-cut is 'good' if you dont know much about car cleaning/detailing, any halfords you walk into, theres shelfing full of car plan and t-cut stuff, bottles, tubes, etc, its misleading

i do actually want to try using t-cut with a DA just to see how much damage it does, ill probably do this on my bonnet when i get a new bonnet

bin the t-cut!

I completely demolished the paintwork on one of my cars with T-Cut, left it on too long so it ended up with a very faded, dowdy paintwork, all patchy and weird lines etc.

AutoGlym Super Resin polish brought it all back up again to a wonderful look.

It's the only product I use now for polishing, it was so fantastic the cars paint looked brand new (instead of 40 years old(1963/4 vehicle)).
