1.8t throttle body nipple
« on: 31 May 2011, 19:28 »
the engine is a agu 1.8t which is in my mk1 golf , but the brass nipple ontop of the throttle body is fouling on the bonnet which is wearing down , i think the pipe goes from the throttle body to the turbo housing cold side ,. is there anyway i can block it off and not have it ?

is buying a small 90bend silicone, and putting a joiner on and connecting your pipe a possibility or not? Is it that tight?

not entirely sure what it does even though i have one..

its actually resting on the bonnet , so everytime i pull off it rubs and wears it down , with teh engine movement . and ideally it would be best if i blocked it off somehow

its only for the charcoal discharge canister which on a mk1 golf is probably N/A so just block it off both throttle body end and turbo end.
i would probably use some chemical metal on the throttle body as long as you clean it first. (some may disagree) the brass nipple should just pull out easy enough...  as for the turbo intake pipe end then thats up to you to decide how you want to do it.
best thing about the mk1 due to when it was born is emisions aint much of an issue mot time.
