Vr6 clifford alarm issues
« on: 25 May 2011, 16:36 »
Hi my dad got a vr6 a few months ago and its a beaut  however for example if he is waiting and has turned engine off when he tries to start engine if wont work unless he activates alarm then de activates it. This can become quite annoying lol.

Any help appreciated cheers

one of my old cars did this, i think its just an inbuilt imobiliser, but it only did it if i turned the enigne off and opend the drivers door.

ye its when he turns engine of then goes to start it. Nothing until he beeps and unbeeps lol. Its must be the thatcham 1 i think as the windows go up when he locks the car? So is the built in immobiliser standard on thatcham 1?

Cheers

My 8v gti does this with the standard lazer alarm. If you turn the key then press the button it just  de immobilize the engine. so no need to lock then unlock etc.

+1 my Clifford concept 300 does this aswell and as said just turn the ignition to the on position and press the top right button on the fob (the biggest button) and the ignition should spring into life
